The Perfect 10 Days in Bali

This past May I was lucky enough to visit one of the most magical places on earth (no I'm not talking about Disneyland). I'm talking about Bali! Below I want to share with you my tips, tricks and itinerary for seeing the best of Bali in just 10 days.

Seminyak

Day 1

The journey from the United States to Denpasar is long and treacherous but definitely worth it. Plan to arrive At your hotel in Seminyak around dinner time. I recommend staying at the Camakila at Legian Beach. They offer a great breakfast and the location is perfect!

Day 2

Rent a scooter and start exploring Seminyak and Canggu. Check out my personal favorite breakfast place Sea Circus for delicious breakfast burritos and acai bowls. Also, the Love Anchor Market in Canggu has all the trinkets you could need and while you are at it be sure to stick your feet in the Indian Ocean! After a day of exploring (and jet lag), you will definitely want to grab a massage at Bodyworks before heading to dinner at Neon Palms.

Day 3

Another day of relaxing to get over that jet lag. Hop on your scooter and head to Nalu Bowls for an early breakfast. I suggest hanging out by the pool for a few hours before a delicious Mexican feast at Mexicola.

If you are looking to score a seat at one of Bali's most popular beach clubs Potato Head you will need to head over ASAP. We were lucky enough to grab some bean bags and relax before sunset.

Ubud

Day 4

Time to head north for a change of scenery-the jungle! Hire a driver to take you from Seminyak to Ubud (about a 1.5 hr drive) most likely if you get a good driver he will take you to all of the "must-go" places in Ubud. Including monkey forest, swings, rice terraces, and Luwak coffee tasting. For only $40 US dollars we had our own guide and air-conditioned vehicle, it was perfect. After a jam-packed day of adventure head to the Tejaprana Resort and Spa. Located slightly outside of downtown Ubud you will feel like you have your own oasis in the middle of the jungle. Also, make sure you rent a scooter for the next few days (you'll get a bigger discount that way).

Day 5

If you are up for an adventure schedule at sunrise photography tour through David Metcalf. I cannot recommend this tour enough. You get to experience an authentic side of Bali that isn't in the guidebooks. You'll try local foods at the market, witness some of the most amazing landscapes and even experience a purification ceremony. Head back and take a nap (trust me you'll need it) before heading to the world's best noodle place Melting Wok. There's plenty to see and do in downtown Ubud including an extremely large market, make sure you do your research on bargaining!

Day 6

Grab some breakfast at the hotel and hop on your scooter for more exploring! You should definitely have Indonesian food before heading off to the Tegenungan Waterfall and the Goa Gajah Temple. For dinner hit up Naughty Nuri's for the most delicious (and probably cheapest) ribs of your life.

Sideman

Day 7

Looking for a truly authentic and off-the-beaten-path experience head to Sidemen. Located east of Ubud I recommend staying here for a night or two for a true jungle experience. The Hideout properties listed on Airbnb (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/18761574)** the perfect mix of modern amenities while still keeping true to the surroundings.

If you are looking for something to do in the area I would recommend a cooking class through Green Kitchen Bali. The is an incredible experience where they take you to a local market to purchase ingredients and then back to their kitchen to cook an incredible meal. It is an all-day experience (think 9 am-2:30 pm) but learning to cook looking over the rice terraces is certainly an experience you won't forget.

Head back to your tree house and relax. Luckily, you can order dinner through the Airbnb and not have to leave your bed!

Seminyak Cont.

Day 8

After a relaxing night in your treehouse, head back to Seminyak for the rest of your trip. For your second stay in Seminyak stay at the Bandha Hotel (located right next door to the Camakila so it'll look familiar). Head out to grab lunch (Naughty Nori anyone) and head to get a massage afterward.

Day 9

Time for another beach club. Head to the W Hotel where you can use the pool, order some drinks and just relax after a few busy days in the jungle. Grab a day bed and chill out until sunset. Make sure to order a coconut drink for a customized pink coconut. Be sure to grab another massage before heading to Boss Man. Definitely the best burgers you will ever taste.

Uluwatu

Day 10

On your last full day in Bali, I recommend making a reservation at Sunday's Beach Club in Uluwatu. Before heading off to Uluwatu head to breakfast at Sisterfields. It will take about an hour to scooter over to Sunday's but seeing different parts of Bali is amazing from the back of a scooter.

After relaxing all day I recommend going over to Uluwatu Temple for sunrise. Get there early as there will be TONS of people.
