Instagrammable Spots in Kuala Lumpur You Must Visit!

Kuala Lumpur is a bustling metropolis and there is no shortage of photo ops in this city! It’s typically hot and humid in KL so best to take photos earlier in the morning (less crowds too!) or take advantage of the golden hour!

And here’s a map of all the photo spots so you can plan your route!

1. Petrona Towers-Typically the first thing you think of when you think of KL. For $30 you can go up the towers and have a view of the entire city. Or visit the KLCC Park for a wonderful view of the two towers. I HIGHLY recommend staying at the W hotel nearby for 24/7 views from the pool. The towers are amazing at night when they are lit up, a view that cannot be missed while you are in KL

2.Batu Caves and the colorful stairs-Another one of the most popular attractions in KL is the Batu Caves. Make sure to head over bright and early for fewer crowds and less humidity. Take a Grab (Asia’s Uber) and head on over, also remember that this is a place of worship and to be respectful. Wear something that covers both your knees and shoulders

3. Thean Hou Temple-A 15-20 minute Grab (Taxi/Uber) ride out of the city center is one of the most beautiful temples I have ever seen. The decorations of this six-tiered temple make it extremely easy to photograph this spot. You won’t have a bad photo. If you have enough time be sure to visit during the day and at night as they light up the lanterns in the evening.

4. Perdana at the Botanical Garden-This garden is one of the oldest and most popular in KL. The 227- acre park includes a botanical garden, butterfly park, bird park, deer park, and orchid garden.

5. Putrajaya Mosque-Malaysia has its own pink Mosque! A perfect spot for Instagram shots. You can take a tour of the inside but remember to be respectful and to wear appropriate clothing when visiting!

6. Petaling Street (Chinatown)-Get in on the action on Petaling Street. It’s a bustling part of town with tons of action and perfect for your Instagram. There are tons of boutique hotels and Insta-worthy cafes popping up in this part of town. Check it out and let me know what you think!

7.Sultan Abdul Shah Building-Located Opposite Merdeka Square this building was inspired by Moorish-style and makes for one of the best photo ops in KL.

8. KL Forest Eco Park-This eco-park is an area of preserved rainforest. It had canopy walkways amid the treetops. Be sure to check out this hidden gem and snap a photo!

9. Brunch at VCR - This place is delicious! The atmosphere is so cute and the food is delicious! What more could you ask for? Take a quick 5 minute Grab from the W hotel
