Where to Eat in Denver

Surprise Surprise, Denver has one of the most interesting food scenes that rivals New York and L.A. Everything from tacos to sushi, and the most amazing beers of course. Below are places I HIGHLY recommend checking out when in Denver.

Breakfast/Brunch

Denver Biscuit Company

If you want the most delicious breakfast sandwich in the world, then you must check out the Denver Biscuit Company. Not only will you fill your IG followers with envy with their photogenic biscuits, your stomach will be more than happy. A perfect introduction to food in Denver, Denver Biscuit Company is the perfect place for a brunch with friends or a hungover brunch!

Huckleberry Roasters

Located at the Dairy Block, Huckleberry offers not only the most delicious coffee and pastries but AVOCADO TOAST. Not gonna lie this place was in my hotel so I frequented it probably 5 times—-the toast is that good! It’s perfect for a light breakfast before heading off to explore downtown Denver.

Lunch/Dinner

Avanti

Described as a collective eatery, Avanti has over 20 draft beers, classic cocktails and affordable wines. This food hall not only has delicious drinks they also have a wide variety of food stalls! We were starving so we started with the Brussels sprouts and then of course tacos from BorraCho Tacos. They also have stands that sell incredible pizzas and arepas!

Dairy Block

Another eatery with tons of stalls, this place is perfect for hitting up before a Rockies game! There are tons of options at the Dairy Block. Everything from crepes, salads, hot chicken and ramen! I recommend Bao Down, you can even get the baos wrapped in lettuce (YAY low-carb life). Be sure to check out all the food stands, I didn’t get a chance to but they all looked AMAZING.

Blue Grill Sake

10/10 would recommend stopping here for lunch! They have an incredible lunch special where you can get two rolls for only $14.50! What I thought was cool about this place (besides the delicious sushi) was that they focus on ethical sushi. This means the fish they serve is farmed responsibly and mindful of the ocean. The service at this restaurant was incredible as well. Our waitress surprised us with one of their most popular dishes (the Cherry Bomb) on the house!

Beatrice and Woodsley

Regarding as one of the best restaurants in America, I would not disagree. A bit outside of downtown Denver (a quick 15-minute Uber) Beatrice and Woodsley does not disappoint. A small, intimate resatuarant, it is a bit fancier but perfect for a date night or your last night in the city! Known for its craft cocktails and small plates, everything we ordered was truly fantastic. This place does fill up, so reservations are recommended! Order the Roasted Bone Marrow, grilled heirloom carrots, drunken duck, and braised pork belly. We were too busy enjoying our meal that I forgot to snap a pic of the food.

Sushi Den

Yes, another sushi recommendation, but you won’t regret this one AT ALL. Order the crispy tuna and you definitely won’t be disappointment . They don’t take reservations for smaller parties (under 5) so get there early. Sushi Den is regarded as one of the premiere sushi and Japanese restaurants in the United States since opening in 1984. If you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to do the Chef’s table, do it!

Kachina Cantina

Not gonna lie, I ate here twice it was that good! Delicious tacos and a local Southwestern twist on your favorite dishes. Yes, this restaurant is located in the Dairy Block but that doesn’t make it any less delicious! The have delicious margaritas and I HIGHLY recommend getting the open faced quesadillas! We ordered one of every taco which was way to much food, but definitely get the shrimp taco and the spicy cauliflower taco! *Side note always take your food pics before drinking margaritas.
